World Economic Forum - The Future of Education

In May 2022, Thomas Johann Lorenz and me spoke at World Economic Forum, on the future of education as a part of Finnish Flow .

The technology already exists. For two years, we have enabled high-quality metaverse experiences through it.

You don’t need a gaming computer, a VR headset or a super-speed internet connection.

You only need a screen.

If you can stream YouTube, you can experience a Journee-based metaverse. This creates accessibility for anyone with an internet connection, enabling an array of possibilities for the transformation of education.

We are not naive - only 63% of the global population has access to the Internet today.

Still, if you only have one screen, a whole village could access high-quality education. Add up the investments Meta, Starlink and others are making into connectivity in combination with the development of sustainable energy sources and more simple, cheaper screens.

This is how close we could be to creating a truly global campus.
