Gitex Global: North Star Dubai - Fashion in the Immersive Web

Ida Kymmer speaking on stage at Gitex Global North Star in Dubai

I had the opportunity to speak on panel at Gitex North Star Dubai, a dynamic subsection of the renowned Gitex Global event.

At the Fashion in the Immersive Web panel, moderated by Emy Cies, I was sharing the stage with Regina Turbina - founder of Artisant, and Nick Vinckier - Head of Corporate Innovation at Chalhoub.

The focus of this panel was the future of fashion in the digital realm, exploring how the metaverse and other digital technologies are reshaping the industry.

The discussion centered on the question:

Can fashion truly go digital, and if so, how can it drive meaningful change in the fashion industry?

From virtual garments and digital collections to 3D design and immersive experiences, we explored how digital fashion opens up possibilities for sustainable production, creative freedom, and consumer engagement. As brands look to build a presence in metaverse environments, digital fashion has the potential to reach new audiences, cut waste, and redefine how we interact with clothing and accessories.

By combining cutting-edge tech with creative innovation, digital fashion promises not only to enhance the way we experience style but also to transform the entire fashion ecosystem.

The panel at Gitex North Star underscored the incredible potential of fashion in the metaverse and offered insights into what the future holds for this evolving intersection of technology and creativity.
